Our travels offer the opportunity to visit the most interesting Christian holy sites of Cyprus. Travelers will go back in time to when powerful emperors ruled the empire in Constantinople and beautiful churches and monasteries were built on Cyprus, some of which still stand. Our route will begin with a visit to the Church of Saints Cyprian and Justina, located in the village of Meniko and built in the 16th century. This church is a place of prayer for healing from curses, evil eye, and witchcraft. Then, travelers will visit the cave church of Panagia Chrysopolitissa, consecrated in honor of "Our Lady of the Golden Cave". The church is located in a natural cave that was specially expanded to install the apse, narthex, and sacristy. The church houses a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, which is believed to have healing powers and people turn to it for help during drought. After that, travelers will head to the Stavrovouni Monastery - one of the oldest monasteries in Cyprus, founded by the mother of the Byzantine Emperor Constantine the Great. Here, a particle of the Life-giving Cross, on which Jesus was crucified, is kept. The monastery is located on the top of a mountain and provides a panoramic view of the island. The journey will end at the Monastery of Saint George Alamanos, located near Limassol. The monastery was founded in the 12th century by St. George - a monk-hermit who fled from the Holy Land, which was captured by the Muslims. The monastery is renowned for its well-maintained grounds and holy spring of healing water. George was canonized as a saint, and the monastery was named in his honor.
